I have a band concert on Tuesday (in about a day), and I'm SUPER nervous...
Though I have to rant, because in my Percussion class, we were trying out instruments, and our teacher said it was like our audition for the parts, but he put us on the parts randomly. I only got to play triangle and mallets, so what did I get? Triangle, which has FOUR F*CKING LINES in the ENTIRE PIECE, and mallet on the other piece, when I would much rather have gotten snare drum.
Anyway we have to report to the Band Hall after school and practice for a few hours, and then we get to eat pizza, which will be my social event of the year, because I had virtual school the first half of the year, the Spring Fling was cancelled due to COVID (I probably wouldn't have gone either way), and none of my friends are going to any other events, so I can't go (because "safety comes first," (Yeah, okay, I get it, Dad))
Um... that was another rant.
I haven't practiced all throughout the snow days and weekend purely because I don't see the point when I'm going to get 30 seconds to shine, and then five minutes on a instrument I don't like!
It went okay, though I suppose it depends on your definition of okay. Now we're doing a research project, so that's nice
