Alright, nobody has to read this haha, I just have to study for a test on cells and organelles for biology (we're reviewing things we've learned already the past couple years to prepare for our next big project and our teacher thought a test was the best way to do it) and it's really boring taking notes on a page and doing flashcards and things so I decided to change it up and make a post about it here. That way I don't feel like I'm really reviewing for a test, more like just posting about something which is something I enjoy a lot more.
WARNING- You will be very bored if you read this haha.
Basic Vocabulary Terms:
bacteria: single-celled organisms that lack a nucleus; prokaryotes
cell: The basic unit of structure and function in all living things; The most simple level of organization.
cell membrane: A cell structure that controls which substances can enter or leave the cell. It is selectively permeable.
cell wall: A rigid outer wall that protects and supports the cell. Found in bacteria and plant cells.
chloroplast: Organelles in plant cells using photosynthesis.
connective tissue: A body tissue that provides support for the body and connects all of it's parts.
epithelial tissue: A body tissue that covers the surfaces of the body both inside and out.
eukaryotic cell: Cell that has a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles
mitochondria: Powerhouse of the cell, produces energy (ATP) from oxygen and sugar in a process called cellular respiration.
nucleus: Control center of the cell that contains DNA.
organ: A group of tissues that work together to perform closely related functions. Found in complex organisms.
organ systems/body systems: A group of organs that work together to perform functions. Found in complex organisms.
organelle: A tiny cell structure that carries out a specific function within the cell. "Tiny Organs"
organism: An individual living thing; most complex level of organization.
osmosis: diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane.
prokaryotic cell: A simple cell that does not have a nucleus or other membrane-bound organelles.
selectively permeable/semi permeable: A property of cell membranes that allows some substances to pass through, while others cannot.
tissue: Groups of cells that are similar in structure and function.
unicellular: A single celled organism
I'll do more studying and not post it because I don't want you to suffer through my studies haha

Thanks guyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
I learned it back in 6th grade too so we're reviewing XD
... to be honest
i did not read the cell thingie
good luck on ur project!!! :D
I did a huge unit on that last year lol
I learned that in 6th grade it was rlly boring but easy to remember
