Very Important Announcement

Hello, everyone! Happy Halloween 🎃 As some of you might know, it's also my birthday today and I've made a spontaneous decision to abandon the Harry Potter fandom for good. The reasons for this are as follows:

1) I can't take any more of JKR's queerbaiting - it feels as if I'm struggling to get over a friend who is never coming back.

2) I keep questioning whether I'm doing the right thing by continuing to write canon fanfiction, even though I don't support Rowling's views myself.

3) I have been in this fandom for more than ten years now - eleven from today - and I need more diversity in my life. No matter what I might feel towards the characters, I know it isn't good for me to keep obsessing over the same whitewashed cast for my entire life. I need to move on and develop my own writing style, and I can't do that if I don't let go of Harry Potter entirely.

4) By leaving, I get more time to work on my original fiction, something which I have been struggling to do for the last two years. If I want to write professionally, I need to work for it, and that means starting now. For those of you who have been reading my fanfictions, this does mean that they will not be continued. I'm sorry to abandon them halfway, but this is the only way I can step away from the fandom without getting sucked back into it again. If I don't leave now, I'll make up excuses and keep going. Because I hate leaving things unfinished, I give you full permission to take the Harry Potter fanfiction that I have written already and keep going with it. Keep it for yourself. It shouldn't be taken away from you just because I've decided to abandon it. Stories are made to live on, even when their creators are gone. So feel free to download the things I have already written - save them, talk to me about them, make up your own versions whenever you like. I'd be delighted to keep in touch with you all 💖 The books themselves won't be disappearing.

I'll also be continuing to write original books on Wattpad, where you can find me if you're looking to read more of my work. The same username (MissLacybee) is used for all of my writing... at the moment, anyway! From now on, I will be using my Tumblr and Wattpad accounts for non-fandom related content. Feel free to stop by and say hello as usual. I'd love to hear from you! Thank you so much for sticking with me over the last couple of years. You've been so supportive and I can't thank you enough.
